PARENT CENTRAL
AN IMPORTANT MESSAGE REGARDING UNIFORM EXPECTATIONS
Over the past few months we have noticed a considerable decline in students’ adherence to Appleby College’s Standard of Dress and Appearance and are looking for parent support in helping to ‘reset’ uniform expectations. Until the May long weekend, students are required to wear the “first dress” uniform. Students should be leaving the house in proper uniform and arriving to school in proper uniform. If students are out of uniform or arrive to school without their blazer, or tie, etc., we will be contacting home and hoping for a quick solution. In some cases, we will be directing students to lost and found or the College Shop to fix the issue.
A reminder that "first dress" Appleby uniform includes an Appleby school blazer, plain white or solid light blue dress shirt, Appleby tie, grey pants or Appleby kilt, and black, navy blue or dark grey socks with pants, or navy blue knee-high socks or plain navy blue opaque tights (no patterns, no sheer nylons) with a kilt. Wearing anything but the proper uniform is not ok. Hooded sweatshirts (even one with an Appleby logo), jeans, athletic wear, running shoes (even if they are black) are not permitted during the school day unless there is a very special circumstance involving a travelling team or another specific event.
Thank you for your support. For more information on Appleby’s dress code please review the Standards of School Dress and Appearance.
