APPLEBY COLLEGE PARENTS' ASSOCIATION
The Appleby College Parents' Association (ACPA) invites parents or guardians of current and past students to actively support the community that is Appleby College. Volunteerism is an integral part of the Appleby experience. Since 1928, the ACPA has provided a variety of excellent volunteer opportunities by organizing both friend and fundraising events in conjunction with Appleby College. Welcome!
ABOUT THE ACPA |
---|
The Appleby College Parents' Association (ACPA) enjoys a long-standing relationship with Appleby College. Since its founding by Lady Edith Baillie in 1928, the role of the ACPA has been “to take an active interest in the comfort and well-being of our students through co-operation with the Principal.” The ACPA’s mandate supports the Board of Governors of Appleby College, the Appleby College Foundation, the Principal, the faculty and administration, as they provide an outstanding educational experience to the students in their care. The ACPA includes all parents and guardians of current students at Appleby College, along with Alumni Parents and Honorary Members. All members of the Appleby community are welcome to attend ACPA monthly meetings. The contribution of each and every member is valuable and appreciated. |

VOLUNTEER |
---|
ACPA VOLUNTEERING AT A GLANCEAppleby’s mission is to educate and enable young men and women to become leaders of character, major contributors to, and valued representatives of their local, national and international communities. This can only be achieved with the help of our many volunteers. Volunteering provides a rewarding way to become involved with the events, programmes and people that support our school. There are numerous opportunities throughout the school year for involvement to suit your schedule. Volunteer enrollment is easily done on-line by using the Volunteer Enrolment Form. Once completed, your name will then be passed to the individual responsible for coordinating each activity who will contact you with more information. For further information on the process please e-mail our parent Volunteer Coordinator Poonam Hardas or contact any member of the ACPA Executive. Important: Please note that Appleby College requires all volunteers to have a Criminal Record Check (CRC) with vulnerable sector screening completed (also known as Police Screening or Security Clearance Check). CRCs must be completed before volunteering begins and all volunteers must obtain this clearance on their own. To continue volunteering, Appleby requires a current CRC to be completed every three years. In addition the Declaration Re Criminal Record, must be completed each year during the application process. CRC Results: The CRC result will be mailed or emailed out to the applicant. Once received, please drop off the original copy in a sealed envelope addressed to Ms. Kathleen Kirkpatrick, Director of Parent Relations at the Reception of the Nicholas Arts Centre. Please indicate on the envelope if you wish the original copy to be returned to you. Appleby will ensure that CRC-VSS received remains strictly confidential. You will be contacted directly if further information is required. |
